Understanding the General characteristics of measuring inatriuments and measurement: In the physical sciences, quality assurance, and engineering, measurement is the activity of obtaining and comparing physical qualities of real-world objects and events.Established standard objects and event are used as units, and the process of measurement gives a number of relating the item under study and the refernced unit of measurement. Measuring instruments, and formal test methods which define the instrument's use, are the means by which these relations of numbers are obtained. All measuring instruments are subject to varying degrees of instrument error and measurment uncertainty.Chapter one:Bellow Resistance Transducers 2.1 inductance type:the inductance type transducer consist of three parts:a coil, a movable magnectic core and a pressure sensing element, The element is attached to the core, moves, the inductance of the coil change.the current through the coil will increase as the inductance decrese, for increased sensitivity, the coil can be separated in to two coils by utilizing a center tap, as the core moves within the coils, the inductance of one coil will increase, while the other will decrease.AMPLIFYING METERS:The usefuness of direct-deflection meters is limited by the minimum practicable f.s.d current. And the consequent limitation on the total meter resistance for voltage applications. Amplifying meters in the form if the voltmeter(or vvm)were originally introduced primarily to overcome this resistance limitation, and the associated multimeter form. And frequently employ transistor circuits in place of the original valve circuits. Inspite of these developements.they are still often referred toba VVMS.From the user's pointbof view, therebis no basic different between vakve and transistor types.Except that transistorized multimeters are often powerd by internal batteries, and therefore requires no external supply.CHAPTER TWO: Introduction To Electrical Measurements:electrical measurements of ten come down to either measuring current or measuring the frrquency of acurrent signal or a voltage signal and you will need to know how to measure either voltage or current.in this short lesson, we will examine thise two measurements -starting with measuring voltage. However, first we should note a few common characteristics of the meters you use for those measurements.many times you will use a digital mmultineter-a DMM-to measure either voltage or current.Actually, a DMM will also usually mrasure frequency.CHAPTER THREE: Fluid Flow Instrumentation:in the physucal world, mexhanical engineers are frequently required to monitor or control the flow of various fluids through pipes, ducts and assorted vessels.this fluid can range from thick oils to light gasses. While some techniques work better with some groups of fluids and less well with others, some are not at all suitabke for some applications. In this primer on fluid flow instrumentation we will look at a wide variety of flow transucers and their application in the physical world.FLIW MEASUREMENT: Fluid flow measurement can encompass a wide variety of fluids and applications.to meet this wide variety of applications the instrumentation industry has, over man's years, developed a wide variety of instrumentation instruments the earliest known uses for flow come as early as the first recorded history, the ancient sumerica cities of UR and kish, near the Tigris and Euphrates rivers(arround 600B.C) used water flow measurement to manage the flow of water through the aqueducts feeding their cities.in this age the simple obstruction was placed in the water flow and by measuring the height of the water flowing over the top of the obstruction, these early'engineering could determine how much water was flowing.in 1450 the italian art architect Battista alberti invented the first mexhanical anemometer. It consist of a disk placed perpendicular to the wind, and the force of the wind caused it to rotat.
